Koekehuis – Haus am Teibes

Our farmhouse which was originally built in 1840, has been owned by our family since 1984 and has been extensively renovated since 2011. We have spent a lot of time, energy and a lot of love to create this cozy holiday home where we often like to stay with our own family and friends as well.

Despite the name suggesting, our holiday home is only 1 (large) house, there are actually several options for rental. The name “Koekehuis” is the family name for the house given by the grandchildren of our family, many years ago, whilst the name “Haus am Teibes” refers to the location: at the Teibes (the floodplains of the Ulf). The two names also identify various rental options:

The house consists of 2 floors and an attic. All floors are interconnected by indoor stairs. There are 7 bedrooms in total. The maximum sleeping capacity is 16 people and 2 babies (children up to 3 years old who sleep in a camping bed).

Due to the size of the house we offer 4 different rental options. Our house is therefore also attractive for smaller groups (less than 12 people.). Both apartments have separate entrances and private terraces and can be rented separately (rental options Lower- and Upper Apartment). For smaller groups of 4 or 6 persons our house is also a nice property to spend your holiday. See “prices” for the terms and conditions.

Our property is the perfect place to spend a nice (long) weekend with your family. To us it is important that children enjoy their stay too. As well as the safe space, games and activity equipment in our garden, we offer 2 highchairs, plastic dishes and a child toilet seat for the toddlers. For a pleasant stay with babies there are 2 dressing cots, a baby bath and 2 sturdy camping beds with an extra mattress available. Children up to 3 years old (sleeping in a camping bed) are free.

Rental Option “Lower Apartment”: 4 persons

The Lower Apartment (ground floor) is set in the original farmhouse which maintains some authentic features such as the beautiful wooden wardrobes built into the 80 cm thick walls and the original antique stove from 1840 in the front room/entrance. This apartment has central heating, a private entrance and a beautiful and spacy covered terrace.

The Lower Apartment consists of:

Rental Option “Upper Apartment”: 6 – 8  persons

The spacious and comfortable living/dining room is lovingly furnished. As well as full central heating, the gas stove with woodfire look offers extra warmth and atmosphere. The Upper Apartment offers a very spacious stay of 6  to 8 persons and has its own entrance and private terrace.

The Upper Apartment (1st floor) was fully renovated in 2012 and consists of:

  • Extractor hood

Living/Dinner room:

  • Comfortable seating in Living room area
  • 2 large oak dining tables with comfortable dining chairs to seat 16 in dining area

Sanitary: There are 2 ½ bathrooms

  • 1 bathroom with walk-in shower, sink and toilet
  • 1 bathroom with walk in shower and sink
  • 1 separate toilet.

Bedrooms: There are 3x double bedrooms.

  • 2x Single beds (box Spring) per room
  • closet or chest of drawers

Note: One bedroom is accessed through another bedroom and is actually a family room (two bedrooms next to each other, Ideal for a family).

We also offer ironing facilities and a hair dryer.

Rental Option “Koekehuis”: up to 12 people 

The combination of the Lower and Upper Apartment (both floors together) offer 12 bed spaces.The spacious and comfortable living/dining room can accommodate up to 12 people and is lovingly furnished. Both floors are connected to each other through a staircase that can be closed/secured by doors.

Rental option “Haus am Teibes”: up to 16 people

The combination of the Lower and Upper Apartment and the attic (all 3 floors together) offer 16 beds. The spacious and comfortable living/dining room can accommodate up to 16 people and is lovingly furnished. All floors are interconnected by staircases that can be closed/secured by doors

The Attic: 4 People

The attic is a totally renovated bedroom for 4 people to stay. The Attic is only available with rental option “Haus am Teibes” due to access conditions:

General information

Bedding:
Bed linen (sheets and duvet covers), towels and kitchen towels are not supplied. On request and at extra service cost we can supply bed linen (sheets and duvet covers) and kitchen towels.

Our beds are single boxsprings that are/can be pushed together. Each bed/mattress is 90x200 cm. The required cover sheets are the same size or in 180x200 cm (as a double bed). The duvets are 140 x 200 cm. Also, when using a sleeping bag, you have to bring a cover sheet and pillowcase.

Bed linen can be rented for 7,50 € per person per stay.

Baby cots:
The baby cots are fitted with a cover sheet, but no blanket/duvet. Please bring these yourself.

Barbecue: 
There is a large barbecue for our guests to use. It is provided with the necessary tools but charcoal is not supplied. Charcoal can be purchased locally.

WIFI:  
There is Free Wi-Fi throughout the entire house.

Parking: 
We offer private parking for 5-6 cars at the house. The parking spaces are off road and out of sight of the public road.

Disabled Access:
Due to its historic character (narrow doorways, steps and stairs) our house is not suitable for disabled people (wheelchairs, rollators or scooters)

Groups:
We retain the right not rent our holiday home to groups with more children (under 16 years) than adults, groups of men only or groups of adults only under the average age of 30.
